CHICAGO – Pacifico Beer, the authentic
pilsner-style beer imported from Mexico, is going mobile with a new web site
and iPhone application that play up Pacifico’s laidback lifestyle. Available starting April 21, 2009, as a
free download online and in the iPhone App Store, the new Pacifico Rooster
Alarm Clock lets fans of the beer wake up to the sounds of nature’s original
alarm clock and follow the adventures of Claudio, the Pacifico rooster.
On the new dedicated web site, www.PacificoAlarmClock.com, fans of Pacifico can download the Pacifico Alarm Clock iPhone app and view a live 24/7 webcam of a rooster in Mexico City, Mexico. The live stream can also be downloaded to desktop, screensaver or embedded into a blog. Omnipresent in Mexico and a symbol of the country’s laidback lifestyle, roosters first became a part of Pacifico last year when they were featured on the Pacifico web site, www.MexicoViaPacifico.com.
As an iPhone application, users can set an alarm to wake up to a recording of the rooster’s rousing crow. Before the alarm goes off, Claudio the rooster is shown via night vision sleeping in his pen. Once the alarm is activated and Claudio crows, iPhone users shake the phone to disarm the alarm, ruffling Claudio’s feathers.
The live streaming video of Claudio can also be sent to a variety of networks, including Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, Tumblr and Digg, to name a few, where users can embed the live webcam onto their personal profiles and pages.
The Pacifico Rooster Alarm Clock campaign was
developed by Seattle-based Creature, an advertising and branding agency that
has handled creative for Pacifico Beer since 2003, in
partnership with Perfect Fools, a Stockholm-based interactive production
company.
Sierra Mist recently added a splash of ruby grapefruit flavor to its lemon and lime. The result was something akin to liquid sunshine, aka Sierra Mist Ruby Splash.
Creature is taking this “liquid sunshine” to the people this Spring to test its sunny properties through a process called “Sunwashing” - a combination of a brainwashing and carwashing experience. A shipping container was built out with a multi media experience to create a Willy Wonka type corridor, where people go in with a Ruby Splash in hand, and proceed through a series of stages all designed to reset their brains and put a sunnier outlook in their heads. In the final stage, a picture of them in a sunny scene is taken and printed on site as proof of their new disposition.
“As to whether this actually works, we can’t be sure yet, but so far people seem to be smiling broadly upon exit.” said Matt Peterson, co-founder and creative director at Creature.
The container debuted in New York on April 9th and is now off to ”Sunwash” people at festivals and street fairs in Washington DC, Chicago, and beyond.
Creature is pleased to announce that JanSport has signed on as a new client as of March 2009.
“Creature brings fresh thinking and creativity to JanSport as we embark on refining our Brand voice within the marketplace and establishing a deeper connection with our consumers. Furthermore, we're excited about the synergy of working with a Seattle-based agency that reconnects JanSport to our founding in Seattle in 1967. Undoubtedly, we are looking forward to a long term, successful relationship” says Courtney Blacker, Brand Marketing Director at JanSport.
This assignment will include full-service traditional advertising, design, interactive and non-traditional marketing activities.
